Al Pacino Daughter The daughter of actor Al Pacino has been arrested on a drunken driving charge in New York City. 21-year-old Julie Pacino was stopped at 1 am Saturday morning on West Houston and was found to have a blood alcohol level over the legal limit. She is being held at the Manhattan Detention Complex pending arraignment. While everyone knows her father, Julie’s mother is acting coach Jan Tarrant. Julie graduated from Tappan Zee High School and went on to study at UCLA. No statement has been made about her arrest by any family members. Al Pacino Daughter Drunk driving is a serious matter. I think it’s important for everyone to take into account not only how dangerous drunk driving can be but also the severity of the consequences. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter who you are or how much money you might have– getting into a car drunk can not only get you arrested but it can also destroy your own life along with the lives of others. I think that there are so many young people out there who don’t think the rules apply to them. They feel invincible– their sense of mortality hasn’t full developed quite yet. And yet statistically speaking, the odds are stacked against their favor. The leading cause of deaths in teenagers are car crashes and one in three of those crashes is alcohol related. In fact, teen alcohol use kills 6,000 people a year. That’s right. 6,000 people more a year would be alive if weren’t for irresponsibility and alcohol abuse. I know that Julie Pacino isn’t a teenager, but she’s still a young woman. Perhaps her irresponsibility is due to her youth or maybe because she somehow feels like she’s above the law as she has a famous father. It’s good that the police did arrest her due to her blood alcohol levels. There should never be exceptions, no matter who the person may be. At the end of the day a drunk driver is a threat to the lives of others. Al Pacino Daughter There are ways that you can combat drunk driving. Of course this includes you yourself not driving drunk by planning ahead. If you know you’re going to be drinking, plan for a designated driver or refrain from drinking more than one drink. It’s crucial that you also help prevent other people from driving drunk. This includes being a designated driver for friends and family, or offering to pay for a taxi for someone who’s clearly intoxicated. More than anything, you must talk to your kids about drunk driving. It’s so important that you begin a dialog with them about the topic as soon as you can. Let them know that you never want them to drive drunk or get in a car with a friend who’s been drinking. While you may not approve of them drinking before 21, I personally believe you should let them know that if they are experimenting with alcohol and are contemplating getting in the car that you’d rather have them call you to pick them up.
